Scholars will look upon this as a disturbing sign of our times:

Doing It

Just found this great website that randomly generates pictures illustrating that "You're Doing It Wrong" - for example:

And, to be more helpful, I also found a site base on the premise So You Wanna... with handy tips how to do a bunch of handy things.

Parry Gripp - Young Girl Talking About Herself

Well, let's give this a try...

The first FIVE people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. Just for YOU.

This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:

- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
- What I create will be just for you and no two pressies will be alike.
- It'll be done at some point this year (2009). No guarantees when exactly since I want it to be a total surprise!
- You have no clue what it's going to be. It may be poetry. I may draw or paint something. I may bake you something and mail it to you. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure!
- I reserve the right to do something extremely strange.

The catch? You have to repost this in your own LJ. We can all make stuff and make someone's day a little bit brighter!!

If you're signing up and I *don't* have your address, please make sure to email it to me
Thanks! ^___^

As an aside, I currently have a bevy of collage material. Watch yourself. Any suggestions or requests will be accepted, but may be ignored in favor of something more bizarre and/or endearing.

Life and Lego Life

Another artist has tickled my fancy, namely Damien Hirst, a member in good standing of the Young British Artist movement.

He's got many interesting pieces, including his figurehead piece,
The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living.

Just as it appears, the piece is nothing more than a tiger stark in a formadelhyde solution, and yet there is something very cool about it. Maybe it's the shark. If only it was a Cobra-shark. I guess then it would have to be called The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Incredibly AWESOME, which doesn't have quite the same ring to it. But, I mean, just look at it.

Now, I should also mention that I've been looking up Lego stuff all day.
And, lo and behold, there is a version of this piece with the artist in front:

How ridiculously awesome is that? Ridiculously! More Lego!Collapse )

New Artist

While browsing the Google special feature of Magritte's art, I indirectly came upon Kris Kuksi who has some wonderfully detailed, morbid and intriguing pieces.

Joss Whedon's new project and I heard today is the last day it'll be up for free.

Excerpt:

Him: I want to be an achiever... like Bad Horse.

Her: The throughbred of sin?!

Him: I meant Ghandi.
